Tempus is an open source platform for the design of itinerary search algorithms.

  • flexibility: to any kind of navigation data (road-based or for public transit, free or proprietary), and to any kind of algorithms (Dijkstra, A*, Contration hierarchies, Isochrone, etc.)
  • performances: core written in modern C++
  • multimodal: internal data structures have been designed to allow the representation of multimodal data (with all the possible modes of transport)
  • interaction with reference FOSS4G tools: PostGIS and QGIS
  • A core in C++ allows to abstract the notion of navigation graph with data imported from a PostGIS database.
  • A data importer allows to adapt to the main sources of navigation data (OSM, TomTom, GTFS, …) and import them into a PostGIS base.
  • A Python API allows to interact with the core.
  • A QGIS plugin allows as well to interact with the core and test different algorithms.
