Oslandia and Camp2Camp are involved in a project led by the French Ministry of Ecology and Sustainable Development (MEEM) since 2013. The goal is to answer their needs for evolutions and bug fixes in QGIS. These needs are collected from all the public structures that are attached to the Ministry.

The main objective is the allow MEEM to maintain a consistent evolution of QGIS in sync with its user base as well as with priorities and needs of the overall QGIS community.

Oslandia works with MEEM to express initial users’ needs into software development tasks that make sense for the overall QGIS community and implement these tasks.

Among QGIS features that have been funded by this project, we can list:

  • better support for MapInfo files (mitab)
  • DBManager SQL assistant
  • virtual layers
  • “arrows” symbologie
  • better support for histograms
  • drawing tools in the composer
